So Animal Print is Pretty Much all Around Us...
Animal Print has been a bit of a micro trend this season, but its seems to be sneakily popping up all over the place. We have seen everything from cow print in our blog post Cow Print Can Be Stylish and some celebrity animal print steals in Welcome to the Jungle. This season is almost becoming an animal print fashion parade. Today we are giving our weekly love to the animal print trend in the form of skinny leopard print jeans. As always our weekly love will give you some handy day to night style inspiration. We’ll also talk you through our favourite eye make up for teaming with animal print and show you one of the craziest (and therefore one of the best) hairstyles sported on the AW13 catwalks. It may be mad but we love it...
Animal Print- The Leopard Print Jeans.
Skinny jeans are a staple in every wardrobe, but notevery wardrobe is suited to the simpler plain denim style. Some of you out there love everything that makes you stand out. That’s why we love you! Get ready to make a stand in any crowd with our leopard print jeans... You’ll be roaring ahead of the style crowd.
Animal Print- How To Wear Them.
Let’s start with our day look- We’ve already established that standing out is super important which is why a pop of colour will work great with a more casual outfit. Our green snakeskin satchel ties in with natural colours without being anywhere near boring. Oh and another nod to the animal print trend too! Team this with our Khaki Parka with wet look sleeve detailing. It’s time to start trying to keep the weather out. We miss you sunshine! The Chelsea boot is another great style option for keeping a bit dryer, your a little further away from the ground aaand you have no skin showing. Sorry dolly shoes but your just not practical right now.
We have two nighttime looks for your as well. Perfect for dinner or a night at the pub we love how well our peplum top goes with the leopard print jeans. Red on animal print is a risky combo but with some simple accessories it is definitely worth pulling it off. Cutout Heels look great with all types of skinny jeans, especially patterned. The lace up detailing adds some extra interest and with a block heel is easy to maneuver in. Pretty much an essential when it comes to eating out, nothing worse than feeling full and trying to teeter! Our over the arm chain handbag is a great choice if your looking for a bag to squeeze your make-up into. Big fan of the peplum? Have a peek at Weekly Love 6- Peplum Perfect for some more peplum style. You know, just incase you missed it.
For more of a club ready look, stiletto heels are a great option. Our ultra glam platform heels add a bit of shine to your look and go great with the denim texture. We love a good crop top and this seasons crop to go for is a floaty cami top. Worn loose over your jeans you can give a hint of figure without flashing too much skin. Another touch of animal print, or animal texture even, is our cute snakeskin clutch with silver detailing. Remember girls, you might dance round your handbags but don’t forget to pick it up. Not that we’ve ever done that... Honest... Overall an easy to grab outfit that will flatter and give you some well deserved fashion points Hooray!
Animal Print- IN YOUR FACE.
When it comes to make up with this look, we love adding a bit of drama. Don’ worry girls we are not talking halloween style animal print eyeshadow. No, nothing that scary, It’s more of a smokey eye thing for this trend. One of our favourite make-up tutorials is from one of the NARS cosmetics girls from their New York HQ. We love how she breaks down the steps into bite size chunks. Loving the natural but defined way she shows us how to do our eyebrows. Have a look here and get in on the smokey eye action. If you love smokey eyes but feel like you need a bit more to your beauty look, why not add a touch of metalic? We think gold works best. Simple use it as your outer shade for a shimmering smokey eye. Gold goes great with most types of animal print too!
Animal Print- In Your Hair Too...
Now as we mentioned before, we do understand that this is a bit mad. Also a bit reminiscent of the days where emo hair was everywhere in every shade and in every animal print pattern... BUT we think Jean Paul Gaultiers AW13 couture fashion show sported some of the most amazing hair ever. Yes you guessed it, the models were adorned with cheata print onto their natural hair. Clock wise from left, we saw some leopard print towering heights, leopard print accessories, some more abstract pieces and a print free twister tower. These animalesque hair designs looked great on the catwalk. Check out the full show below plus some great behind the scenes interviews.Oh, and the clothes were pretty beautiful too, of course. Our favourite hair look had to be one of the simplest. A neat and tidy beehive certainly took away from the emo stigma of leopard print hair. For a more street friendly look, why not try accessorizing your beehive? A leopard print bow at the back of your hair to help keep the look in place will be a cute detail to a seriously fashionable hairstyle. One Tweeter caught an amazing backstage shot of the leopard print hair in progress. Lucky girl, we envy you!
