Are Sequin Dresses Really That Wearable?
We love sequin dresses. Like, really who couldn’t love something that shiny on a night out?! Wearing a sequin dress helps us to feel confident, stand out and shine on any occasion. Whether It’s a gold, silver, black, red, white, blue, navy or even green sequin dress we think it’s the perfect way to look amazing during the party season. We have even had in a sequin maxi dress or two! This season we have seen everything from a long sleeve sequin dress or a backless sequin dress to a bodycon sequin dress or a sequin shift dress. Plenty to choose from at IKRUSH. There was plenty of sequins and other embellishments kicking around the catwalks too... One of our favourite shows was Dolce and Gabbana, just check all those gold beauties!

Although… that’s just the thing… Sequins dresses are more of a party season thing. It’s not like you get a lot of sequin dresses during the summer, right? Even if it’s a pink sequin dress or a purple sequin dress, the summery colours won’t be enough to make these party dresses seem summer appropriate. This is why today’s blog (and some of our latest items…) will help you give sequined dresses more of an all year round feel!
Why Lace Works With Sequin Dresses.
Working sequins into lace with your dresses is a great way to make sure that your new favourite dress can be worn to big occasions all year round. Sequins shouldn’t just be for the office Christmas party, you should be able to wear them to graduation, to a family meal or even just on a night out too. These sequin and lace party dresses are a great option for special occasions no matter what they are, where they are or what time of year it is. With tiny hints of sequin throughout the lace, every time the light hits you, a touch of shine and sparkle will light up your outfit. The strapless styles are great but our favourite has to be the lace panel bodycon dress in a midi length. This style is super flattering with a black panel at the waist. Womanly curves without any hassle! Not only that… but we have a secret… not only are they gorgeous and quality sequin dress but also cheap sequin dresses. What a winning combo.
How We Wear Our Lacy Sequin Dresses.
Let’s start with the styles first. One of our favourite colours is the strapless lace peplum midi dress in wine. We think this is the colour that works best when you want something a bit more glam with your sequin dresses. We think you should go all out and shine with some cut out gem platform heels. It won’t just be your dress that’s shining with this outfit. Set off your look with a patent party clutch which will look great next to sequin dresses without overpowering them. For your beauty look we think that bigger is better with a glam look, especially with the eyes. Choose our double lash effect fake eyelashes for extra volume. All the better for winking with my dear… The strapless lace peplum midi dress also comes in a brighter red. As there is a brighter colour the dress itself is a bit bolder, so going glam isn’t always going to look right. This dress looks amazing for occasions where you want to look great but not feel too much. Dinner with the boyfriend’s parents? Sorted. We wear it with one of our favourite heel styles of the season. The peep toe strappy heels look amazing with a midi length dress and with a touch of metallic is a perfect combo with sequin dresses. We keep to simplicity with the beauty too. A classic French manicure is easy to get with our instant nails set. In a pack of 24, you won’t have to worry about loosing one on a night out either. Simple lashes are easy to get too with our super full false eyelashes in a natural set. Another one for extra value, these come in a double pack! The last of the strapless lace peplum midi dresses is in beige. Seeing as this one has no colour in it, we think adding a colour pop is the best We love a shoe boot on a night out, warmer toes makes for happier dancing feet! The box clutch pretty much screams big occasion, especially with a silk like finish. To top off this outfit, why not try yet another of our false lashes. Ohhh this is the style we are most excited about! What a better way to feel good at any occasion with a dress that is flattering on most figures, has a touch of shine and can work well with glamour, colour pops or even just the simplest of styling. Well it’s all in the nails… These Amethyst Nails also come in a 24 pack so again there is no need to worry about loosing one (or 12 for that matter..). We love a touch of purple and think that stylised false nails are an easy on trend fix for a night out.
What About Make Up That Shines Like Our Sequin Dresses…?
In terms of make-up we had a good look through some backstage beauties from the A/W 2013 catwalks and picked one of our favourite overall vibes. Arora definitely won’t out in the shine department. Although some of the looks featured in this video might be a bit too much for some occasions it’s definitely a great place to start for inspiration.
