Winter Boots Are Stepping It Up.

So Whats The Chat On Winter Boots Then…?

Did you read our post Welcome Back Winter Boots? We talked about every on trend style from Chelsea ankle boots to knee high or thigh high boots. The only trouble was, that we didn’t have many in just yet. Since then we have got in lot’s of womens boots from shoe boots or wedge boots to biker boots and simple black ankle boots. We have two styles competing for our love though- riding boots (no, we don’t mean cowboy style boots… obv) and cut out boots. Today’s blog will focus on both these styles giving you the celebrity run down as well as some awesome style tips. When it comes to womens boots, we have all the best styles covered...

Some On Trend IKRUSH Winter Boots.

So, what does IKRUSH have in stock for you? We have of leather look boots which will knock your socks off. Although we recommend you keep them on, it's rather chilly you know! On the riding boots front we have some amazing styles of black boots with some super chic finishes or even a biker style. Ladies, these boots are made for sooo much more than just walking! Winter boots don’t have to be dull… We love all our IKRUSH styles, but want to take some inspiration from some of our fav celebs too.     Riding boots look amazing but are somewhat similar to thigh high boots, which we will look at for some celeb inspiration. Thigh high boots are a great option for wrapping up this winter, without loosing your feminine side. With a super tight fit, Estelle rocks these thigh high boots at the Victoria’s Secret show. We love the all black look too. See, thigh high boots aren’t scary! They can look super chic too! Jamie Chung backed up this statement at the same event, teaming over the knee boots with a cute red dress. Not overly sexy but still flattering. Selena Gomez took a slightly different approach to the thigh highs, working a leather on leather, skimpy outfit. Despite the contrast to her sweet as suger personality, we actually kind of love it! Teamed with a grungy hair and makeup look we think we could rock this one ourselves.   So what do all these thigh high boots have to do with winter boots? Well, us non celebs actually have to walk places during the winter and sporting a pair of heeled thigh highs may not be the most practical option. Some riding boots make a great replacement, especially for a day look. We scoured Twitter for some of YOUR opinions and found this one tweet that totally summed it up for us.

Yip, that’s exactly what we were thinking! Even if it doesn't make sense, it's three of our top picks for the winter! Woo! Moving on the competitior… Cut out boots… Cut out boots may not seem quite as practical (although they are certainly more sensible than our dolly shoes!) but they are hitting the high street trends hard. Our IKRUSH winter boots are all reasonably priced and just because these are scoring big fashion points, doesn’t mean you need to pay the world to get them. Our most expensive pair from our collection below is only £31.99 which is quite the big whack off the -normally designer- price tag for this style.     What about the celebs? Well cut out boots have actually been around for quite a while now, with the trend kicking off a year or so ago and growing stronger from then on in! Some of the biggest stars of the moment have been spotted in them too. The infamous Miley Cyrus went for a simple look with jeans and an oversized black jumper. Super chic for someone who normally wears more outlandish outfits! We know she has been getting a bit of a bad rep as of late but we think she totally redeemed herself (at least musically) in this live lounge performance…

One of our fav cut out boot looks was this photo of Rihanna wearing a punk pop look with bold stripes and a whoooooole lotta skin. Go RhiRhi! One style crush we got was on Warm Bodies actress, Teresa Palmer. We don’t love anything more than a star who regularly rocks the bare faced look and Teresa certainly loves to bare it all! We loved her plain T and cut out boots combo so much that we decided we might go for it too! Although, seeing as it’s now winter we might have to fling a cardi over us too…     We totally understand if you want some designer winter boots this year and would rather opt to spend hundreds on beauties like these…

But at IKRUSH we know the value of an on trend piece that doesn’t break the bank. The perfect boots at £30 are much more covetable that the perfect boots at say £300, right? On a last bid to confuse you as to which is YOUR favourite, we came across this pick of miley combining the two… How will we ever decide?!?!?

What We Wear With Winter Boots.

So, what kind of style advice can we give for these two very different styles? Well one side of the winter boots coin is pretty grungy this year and the other is somewhat preppy. So here it is, preppy VS grunge… We picked one of our simpler styles of winter knee high riding boots and worked it for a casual day look and a smarter evening look.     With this casual style, we think that 5 pocket skinny jeans and riding boots are a must. A more classic twist on this years winter boots trends. Touching on another trend (remember our blog, Turtle Neck- Trend To Tick ?) we thought working the preppy vibe to the max was the best way to go with a short sleeve polo neck casual top layered under a wet look sleeve waterfall cardigan. This outfit is perfect for feeling chic during the day. If you want to rock it up a bit why not team with some jewellery?     For more of an evening look (without the uncomfortable heels!) we team the knee high riding boots with a super cute velvet skater dress in deep wine. This look can be given a big more glam and we think the best way to do this is with our gold and coloured gem necklace. This gorgeous piece of jewellery won’t just be for glamming up your winter boots but will go with lot’s of other outfits too! To tie the whole outfit together we chose to wear with our crocodile tote bag which is not only going to give you that high fashion edge but also has plenty of pockets for all your daily essential goodies! Right so, time to square up our two competing winter boots! How should you wear cut out boots during the day? Well, starting with our fav pair of course. The chunky sole cut out boots are a great choice if you’re wanting to give your whole wardrobe an edgier vibe and can be worn with everything from dresses to simple jeans.     This outfit is a perfect option for an edgy day look. We love wearing our studied black beanie hat with a loose jumper and this metallic chiffon dip hem jumper is the perfect option for a casual look with a bit of shine. Why not team with some high waist acid wash jeans for an on trend grungy vibe. If you’re looking for something more with this outfit add the gold triangle fan necklace which will give your outfit that extra special… OOMPH!     So, what about for something smarter with the chunky sole cut out boots? We think that teaming our low back skater dress with a gold sequin leatherette biker jacket is a great way to get a party look that will really stand out. Feeling the chill a bit? Why not top it off with our super cute faux fur headband in wine?

So Which Winter Boots Win?

Well, although the riding boots may be a tad more practical, we have to say that wearing cut out boots is our fav way to channel our quirky side and considering quite how on trend the look is, we think that you’ll be hard pushed to find a better look. How else can you rock the grungy vibe this winter? Well we think that just because you’re going for the grunge doesn’t mean you should forget your pretty side! This MAC tutorial shows you exactly how to do this with a great make-up look… Enjoy!   By Mhairi O’Neill @IKRUSH_Mhairi
