Let’s face it, hats are something that most girls can live without. We all know it’s perfectly acceptable to fling your hair back into a messy bun on those, I am soooo not in the mood to do my hair days. A hat however is perfect for the same type of day, but where you also can find any bobbles… We have all had that horror. Whether it’s a bowler hat, a fedora hat, a cute pork pie hat or one of the increasingly popular beanie hats, these accessories can truly save your day. Or at least your hairs day! The beanie hat may not seem like a good choice for the proffessional women of even fashionable women but in the past few months beanies have been given a cool new makeover and are being worn by celebrities, catwalk models and stylish women everywhere.
The girls in the IKRUSH office had already written out their bucket lists of hat loves for the winter when the IKRUSH selection of hats began arriving in. We love being the first ones to try them on too.
Here is@IKRUSH_Michelle and @IKRUSH_Mhairi trying on two of our latest styles. Read on for a closer look at our amazing new bowler hats…
The beanie hat was actually seen on the catwalks. That’s right some of the biggest designers used this simple accessory to make their own mark on the catwalks.
From left to right (above) Alexander Wang, BCBG and DKNY all worked a beanie meets chic combo. Alexander Wang showed a more unusual style of beanie with a style that wrapped right around the head. Cosy yes, but we’re not to sure we would go this extreme. We loved the whole outfit at BCBG, some OTT layering teamed with beanie hats. At DKNY the sleek tailoring and sharp shapes gave a great contrast to a slouchy beanie hat.
For womens hats, it wasn’t just about the beanie but more unusual shapes too! Pictured above (left) Armani took the bowler hat and went big with an oversized style. We love how ladylike this is despite the usually masculine connotations that come with bowler hats. We weren't sure about the fur Russian style hats complete with ear flaps. We definitely would wear them for warming purposes though, how could anyone pass up on having your head cocooned in furriness. One of the oddest styles that strode onto the catwalk however was a …. A big hat… not actually sure what you would call it but we think it’s a distant cousin of the bowler hat. It’s big, it’s red, it’s quirky and it’s Oscar De La Renta. We may not love it but we definitely respect it.

Hats- From Bowler To Beanie In IKRUSH Style.
We love our two latest hat styles. The knitted bobble hat comes in a red, black, navy, cream or grey hat and with a beret style shape will give a Paris worthy chic edge to any look.
For a sleeker look we love our new bowler hats which come in black, cream, grey and navy will look great with both cute outfits and something a little more glamorous.
At IKRUSH we always try to do things in a way that’s just that little bit different. When it comes to hats, whether it’s beanies or bowlers, we like to do the same. Time for a style guide on how to wear hats in this seasons trends without blending in with the crowd. We take a black beanie and a black bowler and show you just what you can do with some simple style.
First up lets look at our beanie hats. How can a beanie hat give you both casual style and trend points? With tartan, of course. Yep, you’ve guessed it IKRUSH are still loving tartan and are teaming our tartan pencil skirt with our gorgeous velvet cut out top. We love this cropped style top with shoulder cut outs and it goes great with our black quilted biker jacket too! This style is the perfect choice for wearing a beanie as you’ll be hitting the right trends in a casual but chic way. Wear with some of our high heelsto take this look into the evening.
We also love wearing a good beanie hat on a night out… We know this might seem a bit scary, but with our styling tips you’ll look great in a beanie while still feeling glamorous. We wear our red long sleeve bodycon dress with lot’s of chunky gold jewellery to keep the look bold. The simple dress can be super versatile too. Team this outfit with highheels for a cosy but chic look on a night out or with winter boots for a day look with a difference.
When it comes to our bowler hats, we would pretty much wear them with anything… That’s how big our bowler hat love actually is. Onsies with a bowler? Yeah why not! Well maybe not that far but you get what we mean! Our first outfit to go with the black bowler hat however would look great on most figures as we work it with an oversized fairilse knitted jumper. This jumper is great for layering and we love it with our long sleeved denim shirt with sheer sleeve underneath. Layering can be a great way to mix and match different outfits. Check our other jumpers for more top layer ideas.
Taking the bowler to a more sophisticated (well party anyway) place we team our black bowler hat with a gorgeous embellished bodycon dress. This dress is a great option when picking out your next little black dress. Bodycon is one of our top picks for party wear but with an intricate beaded finish this dress gives a bit more WOW to a simple style. We love this with our cut out peep toe wedges. For extra height without the discomfort these are a definite must. The overall outfit looks super cute with bowler hats and maybe some cat eye flicks for the make-up.
Hats- From Bowler To Beanie And More…
Not quite so satisfied with just bowlers and beanies in the hats department? Well we have something a bit different too…
