Going for Gold at the VMAs.

The 2013 MTV Music Video awards saw many amazing red carpet looks. Here at IKRUSH we loved one glam recurring theme. Many of the stars donned gold and stood out, working the trend their own way.     Both Iggy Azalea and Ciara worked long golden gowns, going for an allover bold in gold effect. Iggy wore an Emilio Pucci gown, sheer with only the gold embroidery to cover her ... Ahem.. Modesty. Despite the almost but not quite revealing dress she looked both elegant and fierce, complimenting the look with simple, sleek hair and red lips. Ciara’s gown in a lighter, champagne shade also left little to the imagination. However the heavy embroidery and feather hem line gave an extra dimension to the dress. She chose a more relaxed beauty look, with loose waves and a nude colour pallet again keeping the focus on the dress.   We also saw a more subtle approach to the gold trend with accessories and embellishment being key. Joan Smalls wore a simple white dress with black leather boots, leaving her touch of gold to the neckline with a chunky statement necklace. Coco Rocha stepped out in grunge inspired style wearing Fausto Puglisi. A gold and bead embellished jacket helped to keep this all black look interesting and glamorous. We loved her short hair simply swept back- looks like everyone is loving the crop right now! Here at Krush we love to accessorise with gold. Our favourite take on this trend is wearing our staple LBD with  gold shoes handbag and jewellery. Here we used our shimmer dress as our LDB with some gorgeous accessories. We love a bit of glamour with the Terra Gem Platform Heels and Juliette Gold Petal Cuff. The Alix Snake Evelope Clutch Bag with gold edging ties the look together with a touch of texture. We love that it comes with a chain too, no more dancing round your clutch bag with this great buy. Don’t forget to keep your hair and makeup simple. We suggest a sleek up-do and red lips for the perfect starlet look.   By Mhairi O’Neill @IKRUSH_Mhairi
