Amy Winehouse: A Family Portrait

Amy Winehouse: A Family Portait, an original exhibition about the singer’s life and her Jewish roots opened last week and runs until September 15th in the Jewish Museum London.

Curated by the museum, with help from her brother Alex and sister-in-law Riva it is a personal and intimate exhibition about a much-loved sister.

Family have given the museum unprecedented access to photographs, Amy’s belongings, her record collection and her iconic outfits. Her show stopping style can be traced to her stylish Grandmother Cynthia, who’s vintage photos are also on show.

The exhibition has four parts to it, taking the viewer though music, family, London and style and their importance in the famous singers life.

She was photographed for her style throughout her career, with her beehive hair, tattoos and eyeliner becoming iconic. On show will be the Luella Bartley dress she wore for her Glastonbury 2008 performance, an Arrogant Cat dress worn in the Tears Dry on their Own video and a dress worn during an appearance on the David Letterman Show.

For any fan of Amy, or style enthusiast, it promises an interesting and possibly emotional visit.

We got some exclusive snaps of what to expect. Have you checked it out already? Tweet us and let us know how it was @ikrush
