There is nothing worse than splashing out on a beautiful lip product, with the aim of achieving perfect lips and then your canvas becomes your downfall. We are talking chapped rough lips girls. It’s a no no in the process of achieving the perfect lips pout. Some of the following tips may be common knowledge but as a lipstick newbie (hands up, I was a tomboy with a passion for fashion and a hatred for all things beauty, bad me.) I honestly couldn’t work out why my lipstick attempts made me look like a dolled up 100 year old. Once I started using these tips, things became a lot smoother. Pun intended
Perfect Lips- The Three Step Tips.
Yip, thats right, it only took me three super simple tips to get perfect lips. Yes I am enjoying rhyming today. Step one involves an old toothbrush, you need soft bristles so as not to damage your lips. If this seems a bit odd to you, try a baby toothbrush, they are much softer and gentler on the skin. Find your toothbrush and have it handy. Step one complete.
Now you need petroleum jelly. Most of you probably are sorted with your staple back of the cupboard massive tub of Vaseline! Step two has you lathering it onto your lips making sure you are covering the edges. This will create both a protective layer and moisturise.
For step three, you need to pick up your toothbrush and veeeerrrrryyyy gently brush your lips. I find small circles from centre out helps to keep the brushing even and spread the Vaseline.
If you have any leftover Vaseline wipe off with dry clean tissue or a cotton pad. Yes this makes four steps, but it’s not always necessary so it doesn’t count...
Voila! Your have prepped your perfect lips!
Perfect Lips- Your Nude Shade.
Colour may be and obvious choice for trends, but if you read our A/W13 Goes Back to Basics post you’ll realise that this season simplicity is actually on trend. For first time lipstick ladies, this is good news, finding your nude shade is pretty simple.
Two is the magic number for perfect lips here. Go two shades darker than your natural lip shade, keeping with the hues that nature gave you! For example those with pink hued lips should choose a shade two darker with a pink undertone to create the, yeah I am not really trying but I still look great vibe.
