Embroidery, applique, embellishment – if you want to give an item of clothing some extra pizazz, a little extra decoration can be just the thing. We’ve spotted quite a few examples of ornate needlework cropping up on the catwalks recently as designers make full use of the expert seamstresses that work for them. Let the stitching begin! In their Autumn/Winter 2014 show, models walked the runway in magical, full-length gowns embroidered with a cornucopia of images including birds, hearts and stars. Dolce &Gabbanadelivered a show full of costume dramawith folksy dresses printed with flower and key motifs. And quirky accessories designer Charlotte Olympia went the whole whimsical hog with shoes and bags featuring needlepoint insects and flamingos. The pastel-coloured lace pieces from the Spring/Summer 2014 collection were more accessible but still made a high-fashion impact on the stitching front. Here at Ikrush , we show you how to do the embellishment trend with super-wearable clothes that cost a lot less than high-end couture. This
flattering black party dress is really something special. You get two embellishment details for the price of one as it not only features black lace on the bodice but also a beautiful pattern of sequined paisley print shapes. The body con black panels shape your upper body whilst the skirt kicks out (great if you’re a bit self-conscious about your hips or stomach). It’s the perfect dress for nights out or a special occasion. This
smart daywear dress looks simple but the ornamentation at the neckline makes it unique. We love the scale of the black 3D flowers – they catch the eye and make a pretty dress even prettier. If you like this idea of having your jewellery sewn into your clothes, why not try this
on-trend peplum top? The striking geometric necklace decoration looks amazing against the neon pinkcolour of the top. Imagine what the top would look like without that eye-catching neckline – not half as nice we bet!

Summer dressing is simply stylish with the
Tessa range at Ikrush. The crochet and mesh fabric is so fresh and feminine and we adore the scalloped edges of both the crop tops and the shorts. These items come in a selection of pastel colours so you can mix and match as much as you like! Team a Tessa top with jeans or a pair of Tessa shorts with a plain grey marl t-shirt – that way you’re still getting an embroidery fix even with a more casual outfit. If you like your style to be more dramatic, look no further than this
dazzling black embroidered kimono. At first sight, the dip-dye fringing looks to be the most noticeable feature of this boho kimono but look closer and you will see a gorgeous floral design stitched into the material. Great thrown over a plain-coloured dress or paired with denim shorts and a vest, this kimono is an excellent Summer investment.
