Evening Dresses Are Party Season Perfect.
So it’s party season, as you may have heard. It’s also boxing day and we know plenty of you will be panicking because you haven’t found perfect evening dresses for your New Years party. It doesn’t matter if you are looking for evening maxi dresses or simply sexy evening dresses. If you haven’t found one yet you might be doing the ‘wahhh I don’t know what to wear dance’. Stay tuned and we might upload an example of this. Whatever evening dresses your after you will also be looking for them on the cheap. Not cheap and cheerfull mind you but a real bargain that you will look great in.
Annnnnd cue IKRUSH! Today we bring you an evening dress for every taste which is not only budget friendly but gorgeous too. We are also going to top it off with head to toe style including a gorgeous beauty look for each of the evening dresses.
Evening Dresses On The Red Carpet.
So where are we taking inspiration from with our evening dresses? There is plenty of red carpet events around this time of year, all chock full of long evening dresses and lot’s of other evening dresses for women. Here we have some of our favs from one of the biggest events this year- the fashion awards. Where better to scope out all the fashionista inspiration?! Check them out!
Monochrome made it big this season but what won out? Black or white. We loved both these look even if they were on two very different girls. Lulu Guinness looked stunning in her LBD with long sleeves and some colour popping red shoes. In contrast, Alexa Chung worked a LWD (little white dress!) with no sleeves, a much shorter length and a love heart neckline against a sheer panel. Which would be more your style?
We love both looks but we certainly didn’t forget to look at something a bit more stand out too. Rita Ora went full length with a metallic dress with a strapless style that suited her figure. We loved how she worked the Hollywood siren look right down to the last touch of glamour and beauty. Rosie Huntington-Whitely took an altogether different approach, ditching the evening dresses for a suit that certainly wowed! There is nothing better than bright red to help you stand out.
The ladies sure did run the red carpet that night. There is however one young man who may have outshone them. One Directions Harry Styles gave his name a bit more meaning and one an award. Twitter was full of recognition for him too!
4 Evening Dresses For New Year Perfection.
So, what are these gorgeous IKRUSH dresses that you just
have to see? Well, we have and LBD, a LWD, a LRD and a star worthy LMD… Read on to find out what these actually are…
Let’s start with the well known LBD. Everyone loves a little black dress and when it comes to evening dresses we have the perfect, flattering shape that is well suited to almost any occasion. We dressed this velvet and chiffon long sleeved skater dress with accessories that made it perfect for a party with your friends. Our
platform shoe boots are a great way to introduce a colour pop to your look, just like Lulu did with her red shoes. If you are into matching up your accessories then why not go for the
diamante clutch bag in pink? It also comes in other colours if you prefer a little clashing though. To finish it off we stole some more inspiration from Lulu with a
pearl choker necklace that’s a great shape for the evening dress.
So, onto one you might not have heard of (well until you read the start of this blog of course.)… The LWD. A little white dress is a different way to make a simple but strong statement with your choice in evening dresses. Our lace bodycon dress
has a great necklace that comes attached but can be taken off if you want to work something different. We thought taking a nod from Alexa Chung’s choice in footwear would really set this evening dress off. Our
bejewelled strappy heels are both party ready and flattering, perfect for your big night out. Top this look off with a wine
leatherette sleeve quilted blazer to ward off the chill, pretty essential if you’ll be outdoors at all!
Our next style inspiration, Rita Ora, put us in the mood for a little metallic dress, AKA LMD… Our favourite metallic style of the moment has to be the glitter bow back skater dress.
This cute dress has a flattering style and just enough shimmer to make you feel festive without looking like a Christmas bauble! We think it is a great choice for a family party and team it with our
super soft button front cardigan in black for a perfect way to give your evening dresses a simple style. For footwear we wanted to make sure it still had a youthful vibe and the
strappy platform wedge heels do just that. Chunky
and with a strap ankle, right on trend too.
Lastly we have the daring girl’s best friend. Her own fiery LRD! A little red dress can be the perfect choice if you want to look great for that special someone or even if you just want to feel confident for yourself. Our one shoulder sequin dress has a bold red colour with gold sequin stripes and looks amazing with something a bit more edgy. We love the
cut out platform wedges and think they are the perfect way to make a super sexy dress a bit more on trend. We work these leather shoes with a matching
leatherette quilted jacket.

Beauty Looks To Pair With Your Evening Dresses.
So we had a little hunt for some alternative beauty looks. Who wants to do try tried and tested looks when you can start the New Year in a new evening dress with a whole new beauty look to try…?
We loved the silver metallic look from the show. We recommend not using glitter that isn’t supposed to be make-up though. Unfortunately we speak through personal experience… We do however recommend trying it out. We think it will go great with our LMD in particular… The pale pink lips are the perfect way to give a feminine vibe with such a strong eye look.
We already looked at this Anna Sui make-up look in our blog 5 Tops To Wow In but think it is worth another look! This 60’s inspired eye makeup with a modern twist is the perfect style if you want something bold to team with your evening dresses, a certain win with an LBD. Work it with a colour pop and give some bold pink or purple lips a try.
Our final look is a gorgeous, geometric eye shadow look from the runway. This season, beauty has been all about making your eyes bold with liner. We loved that this look was done in a softer way with shadow. Scared to attempt this? All you need to get the sharp line without smudges is a piece of card to hold under the line, using upward strokes. Sorted! Here is one of our favourite videos from the show… So eerily beautiful… This show used a much simpler make-up look though that we think is great inspiration for starting with a flawless base!
What about the hair? Well, we just couldn’t resist the opportunity to take some inspiration from one of our favourite stars of the moment. Here is a little reason why we love her so much…
Yeah, J-Law has certainly been making waves. The Hunger games star is on her way to the top! Speaking of top… here are some top crops from Jennifer Lawrence!
We love all three looks but we have a tutorial here that takes inspiration from the look she wore in the above video. Not only that but it’s super easy too. Dry shampoo at the ready girls, this one is perfect for last minute style.
